A trailer and nearly $5,000 in tools recently were stolen from a construction site on San Marino Parkway in the Fenton area. The theft was reported about 6:15 a.m. July 11, and the victim believes the items were stolen the previous day, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The stolen items included a white box trailer with rear double doors that was valued at $500 and a variety of construction tools worth an estimated $4,870. The trailer was parked at a site where a home is under construction, Lt. Gary Higginbotham said.

Neighbors reported seeing a dark-colored truck show up at the site at 9:40 p.m. July 10 and back up to the trailer before two people got out, hooked the trailer to the truck and hauled it away. The witnesses also said they heard male voices during the incident, the report said.

As of July 14, the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, Higginbotham said. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
