A trailer filled with ladders and other construction equipment recently was stolen from a construction site in the 100 block of timber Pine Drive in the Festus area, where a home is being built. The theft happened between 6:30 p.m. April 18 and 8 a.m. April 19, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Among the stolen items were a 16-foot utility trailer, seven ladders, two aluminum walk boards, two saw horses, a Rigid chop saw and two aluminum siding brakes. Altogether, the trailer and other items were valued at $8,460, the report said.
The victim told deputies he was preparing to install siding on the house under construction, so he parked the trailer filled with equipment at the home on April 18, and when he returned the next morning to start the job, it was gone, according to the report.
As of Wednesday (April 26), the stolen items had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, Cpl. Matthew Moore said. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
