The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of several DeWalt tools and a weed eater from an unlocked pickup parked inside a garage at a home in the 900 block of Guenzler Drive in Imperial. The stolen items were valued at about $925, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The victim told deputies he accidently left the garage door open at his home the night of Aug. 13. When he went into his garage at about 5:30 a.m. the next day, he found the tools and the weed eater missing, the report said.

As of Aug. 25, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
