Eureka Police are investigating the theft of tools from a storage unit at Storage Rentals of America, 306 W. Fourth St. A 49-year-old Eureka man told police the tools were stolen between Jan. 11-16, police reported.
The man called police about 10:40 a.m. Jan. 16 when he went to his storage unit and discovered the lock had been placed on the door backwards. He said when he opened the unit he discovered approximately $1,000 worth of tools were stolen, the report said.
There was no visible damage to the lock or the storage unit’s door. Surveillance video did not show anyone going to the unit between Jan. 11-16, according to the report.
As of Tuesday, Jan. 27, none of the tools had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Brett Grittini said. He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
