Nearly $2,500 worth of tools were reported stolen from the back of an unlocked pickup at the Phillips 66 gas station, 1502 Jeffco Blvd., at about 9:50 a.m. Oct. 9, Arnold Police reported.

A 58-year-old Arnold man told authorities he had gone to the gas station to fill up gas cans, which were in the bed of a 2005 Ford F-150. He unlocked the tailgate to get the cans and fill them up, and then he went into the station’s convenience store to purchase some items, leaving the tailgate open, the report said.

The next day, the man discovered tool bags missing from the pickup. the bags had contained two impact wrench guns, a battery charger, a cordless jigsaw, cordless drill and batteries. The tools were valued at $2,437, according to the report.

As of Oct. 25, none of the tools had been recovered and there were no suspects, Arnold Police Lt. Tom Leassner said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-269-3204.
