The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 34-year-old High Ridge man and is seeking charges against a 39-year-old St. Louis man in connection with the theft of three vehicles.

Deputies were called at approximately 5:25 a.m. Oct. 5 to a home in the 1800 block of Jessie Circle in High Ridge where a 2002 Honda 400 EX was stolen from an open garage. The victim told the deputies he entered the garage while the ATV was being stolen and followed it to a home in the 4600 block of Brennan Road in High Ridge and took back the ATV, the report said.

When a deputy arrived at the Jessie Circle home, the victim was returning with his ATV and a black 1996 Dodge Ram was seen leaving the subdivision. Another deputy followed the pickup to the home on Brennan Road and saw someone get out of the truck and go into the house, according to the report.

A woman answered the door to the home and said she was the homeowner and gave the deputy permission to search the house, and two other vehicles that had been reported stolen were recovered there. The High Ridge man was arrested at the home. Investigators were told the St. Louis man had been in the home but had run out the back door, the report said.

Deputies discovered the Ram had been reported stolen in St. Louis County. In addition, deputies found a 2006 Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 at the home that had been reported stolen in St. Louis, the report said.

The High Ridge man was taken to the Jefferson County Jail, where he was booked and released pending the application for charges. The Sheriff’s Office will seek a charge against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for first-degree tampering, Bissell said.

As of Oct. 11, the St. Louis man had not been arrested, but the Sheriff’s Office will seek charges against him through the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for stealing and burglary, Bissell added.
