A home in the 4800 block of Dogwood Lane in Imperial recently was damaged by fire. Three people live in the home, but only one was home when the fire started, and he got out OK, along with a few dogs, said Chief Bob Dunn of the Saline Valley Fire Protection District.
At 1:07 p.m. May 9, Saline Valley Fire got a call about the fire, and when firefighters arrived at the scene at 1:14 p.m., fire was coming from the roof of the single-story home. Firefighters were at the scene until 4:46 p.m., Dunn said.
He said there was heavy damage to the ceiling and attic, and the family will be displaced for some time while repairs are made. The Red Cross was called to assist the family.
Dunn said the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
The Antonia Fire Protection District helped with the call, Dunn said.
