Two men and a woman, all from Jefferson County, were arrested for alleged possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia after the pickup they were in was pulled over on Hwy. 141. The incident happened at 9:49 p.m. March 20, Arnold Police reported.

A 40-year-old Hillsboro man was driving the 2001 Chevrolet S-10 when an officer noticed the pickup was not staying in a single lane on Hwy. 141. The officer pulled over the driver and smelled marijuana, the report said.

A K-9 officer was called in to search the pickup. Near the center console on the passenger-side floor board, police allegedly found numerous syringes, including one filled with an unknown substance believed to be methamphetamine. Police also allegedly found a substance believed to be marijuana, two digital scales and $178, according to the report.

The driver, along with a 33-year-old De Soto man and a 34-year-old Imperial woman who were passengers in the pickup, were arrested and taken to the Police Station. The three were booked and later released pending application for warrants, the report said.

Depending on lab results, Arnold Police will seek charges against them through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
