A dog door appears to be the opening a thief needed to steal more than $3,300 worth of items from a home in unincorporated Fenton. The theft happened between 5 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. April 1 at a home on Fiedler Lane, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
It looked like one or more people entered the home through a garage door in the back of the home, damaging the door in the process. Then, the culprits apparently left the home through the front door, the report said.
The victim, a 59-year-old man, said an estimated $3,370 worth of items were stolen, including MTX stereo speakers ($500), a collection of at least 200 DVDs ($600), a Super Nintendo video game system ($200), a Nintendo 64 video game system ($200), a Budweiser anniversary bottle ($25), a marble clock ($200), a lawn mower battery ($75), an emergency medical kit ($20), various power tools ($600), a Stihl 18-inch chainsaw ($250), a Milwaukee chop saw ($200) and a tackle box with various lures ($500), according to the report.
As of April 6, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
