The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of two cables and damage done to other cables from a tower site in the 6300 block of Hwy. 30 in Cedar Hill. The cables belong to T-Mobile, police reported.
An alarm went off at about 5:10 a.m. Sept. 15 at the tower site because a battery backup cabinet was opened. A hole was cut in the fence the surrounds the tower, and numerous cabinets were opened and wires were cut, the report said.
The Sheriff’s Office did not report an approximate cost to repair the fence and damaged cables, and it did not report the estimated value of the stolen cables.
As of Sept. 16, the cables had not been located, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
