The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of an SUV from a parking lot at the Pleasant Valley Nature Preserve in High Ridge. The gray 2016 Ford Explorer was valued at about $20,000, authorities reported.
The victim said she arrived at the nature preserve, 6701 Twin River Road, at about 11 a.m. Sept. 29 and left the SUV unlocked with its windows partially open and the keys inside. Then, at about 12:10 p.m., she discovered the vehicle missing, the report said.
As of Oct. 14, the SUV had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
