Arnold Police are trying to identify a person who stole an SUV from outside the 7-Eleven, 3695 the West Outer Road. The 2004 Chevrolet Blazer had a .9mm Taurus gun inside when it was stolen, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.

A 42-year-old Catawissa man had left the SUV unlocked and running at about noon Jan. 4, when he went into the convenience store. The Blazer, which was valued at about $6,000, was recovered Jan. 6 in the 5900 block of Etzel Avenue in St. Louis. It was still drivable, the report said.

The North County Police Cooperative found the gun Jan. 9 by in the intersection of Maffitt Avenue and Goodfellow Boulevard. The gun was found after officers tried to stop a vehicle, according to the report.

As of Jan. 14, police were still trying to identify the person who stole the SUV, as well as the person who ditched the gun while being pursued by North County Police Cooperative officers, Ackermann said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
