A 46-year-old Pacific woman is facing a burglary charge in connection with vandalism at a home in the 2300 block of South Lakeshore Drive in the Jefferson County portion of Pacific. The incident happened about 4 p.m. Sept. 7, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
After the Sheriff’s Office got a report about a burglary at the home, deputies arrived to find nearly every window in the home damaged. Also, an entry door had been forced open.
In addition to the damage to the eight windows and door, a refrigerator, a stove and a shower door were damaged. A wooden baseball bat was missing. The damage was estimated at $3,000, according to the report.
During the investigation, a witness was found who identified the suspects, including the Pacific woman and several juveniles.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said Sept. 13 that the woman had not been arrested but the Sheriff’s Office planned to seek a charge against her through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for second-degree burglary.
The case against the other suspects was turned over to juvenile authorities.
