A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a home in the 800 block of Woodrow Street and stealing items. The victims are related to the suspect, who is homeless, Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis said.
The incident was reported about 5:15 p.m. June 11, Lewis said.
“The victims are a 55-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman,” he said. “They reported their home had been broken into. There was forced entry at a door.”
Stolen items included a guitar and other musical equipment. The stolen items were valued at $500, Lewis said.
He said the man was arrested soon after the crime was reported, and the suspect allegedly confessed to stealing the items. He was booked and released pending application for warrants, Lewis said.
