Eureka Police are investigating the theft of items worth about $1,130 from outside a home in the 900 block of Gandolf Way. The items appear to have been stolen when the victims, an 82-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman, were moving into the home, police reported.

The victims said the theft happened Sept. 6 when a storage bin was stolen. It contained an Apple watch, four Swiss Army knives, personal documents and other household items, the report said.

A neighbor’s surveillance video allegedly showed an orange pickup pulling a white trailer stop outside the home at about 6:20 p.m. Sept. 6. The video did not show anyone get out of the pickup, but investigators believe the bin was taken at about that time, according to the report.

As of Sept. 27, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Tapp said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
