A pickup truck stolen Nov. 17 at a Festus-area gas station-convenience store later crashed at Larry G. Crites Memorial Park in the city of Festus after a police chase, according to police.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup was stolen when the victim left it running while he went inside the ZX gas station-convenience store, 11845 Hwy. The driver fled the scene when police arrived, the report states.
Festus Police Chief Doug Wendel on Tuesday, Nov. 28, said the chase ended at Crites Park and the vehicle has since been turned over to the Sheriff’s Office. He said he did not know the extent of the damage to the vehicle.
