State Fire Marshal’s Office investigating suspicious House Springs fire

A fire on April 12 destroyed a mobile home at the 6400 block of Second Street in House Springs.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed a mobile home in the 6400 block of Second Street in House Springs, High Ridge Fire Chief John Barton said.

Barton said crews were dispatched on April 12, with the first unit arriving at 2:55 a.m. He said a single-wide mobile home was engulfed in flames when the first crews arrived, and homes on both sides were exposed to fire.

“Crews attacked the fire and worked to prevent further extension into the other mobile homes, and the alarm was under control at 3 a.m.,” Barton said. “Our investigator left the scene at 5:50 a.m. The fire was determined to have been set by someone and was investigated by the Missouri State Fire Marshal.”

A representative from the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office was not immediately available for comment.

High Ridge Fire was assisted on the scene by the Cedar Hill and Goldman fire protection districts, Barton said.
