A 49-year-old St. Louis man was arrested Jan. 16 in St. Louis County after he tried to sell an air-conditioning unit he allegedly stole from outside a home in the 300 block of Kathryn Drive in Arnold. The air conditioner was stolen between 10 a.m. Jan. 10 and 11:58 a.m. Jan. 14, Arnold Police reported.

The air conditioner was valued at $1,100, the report said.

A 45-year-old Imperial man who owns the air conditioner discovered someone was trying to sell it online and arranged to meet the seller in St. Louis County. Arnold Police, along with St. Louis County Police, accompanied the victim to the transaction location and arrested the seller, according to the report.

Arnold Police will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charge for stealing, Capt. Rich Shular said.
