A 33-year-old St. Louis man was arrested for allegedly smashing a vehicle’s window after he was told to the leave the QuikTrip convenience store, 1069 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold following a disturbance there. The man was arrested a short time later near the business, Arnold Police reported.

Officers were called at about 6:15 p.m. Nov. 27 after the man allegedly used an unknown object to strike the rear hatchback on a 2001 Ford Escape at least six times, shattering the glass. The victim, a 20-year-old Herculaneum man, said it will cost about $1,000 to fix his vehicle, the report said.

Arnold Police said it is not known why the St. Louis man was told to leave the store, but police reported he appeared to be intoxicated on drugs. Police also said the Herculaneum man whose car was damaged was not involved in the disturbance at the business.

The St. Louis man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and then transported to Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Crystal City for evaluation, the report said.

Arnold Police will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for first-degree property damage, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.
