Arnold Police arrested a 46-year-old St. Louis man for reportedly assaulting a woman. The man also allegedly stole $346 from the victim, police reported.
The incident happened about 10 p.m. May 11 while the two were in a vehicle together headed to HotShots Bar & Grill, 131 Arnold Crossroads. The two began arguing, and the man allegedly punched the woman in the face, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said.
The woman was bleeding, and they stopped at the QuikTrip, 1069 Jeffco Blvd. The man allegedly took money from the woman’s wallet and fled the scene, leaving her behind. The woman was treated at the scene by Rock Township Ambulance personnel and released, the report said.
The man was apprehended a short time later and transported to the Arnold Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants. However, after he was released, he threatened law enforcement officers and called the woman he allegedly hit and threatened her. So, the man, who appeared intoxicated, was transported to Mercy South in St. Louis County to be held for 96 hours and for evaluation, Ackermann said.
He said Arnold Police will seek felony charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
