Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies recently arrested a 37-year-old St. Louis man wanted on several active warrants and allegedly found him with illegal drugs, authorities reported.
At about 2 p.m. July 19, deputies got a report about an alleged physical disturbance in progress near Old Lemay Ferry Road and Vogel Road south of Arnold. In the 2200 block of Old Lemay Ferry Road, deputies saw a woman running away from a man behind her, the Sheriff’s Office reported
The woman ran past a deputy who had gotten out of his patrol vehicle, and the deputy stopped the man. The man said he was not involved in a disturbance and refused to identify himself, the report said.
The deputy placed him in handcuffs. Other deputies found the woman near the intersection of Old Lemay Ferry Road and Pomme Road, and during questioning, she denied any physical disturbance and identified the man, according to the report.
Deputies verified the man’s identity and discovered he was wanted on warrants. They arrested him and allegedly found hum with numerous capsules containing suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia, the report said.
The man was taken to the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, where he was held on his warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, the Sheriff’s Office will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Capt. Matt Moore said.
