A 55-year-old St. Louis man was arrested for allegedly stealing an AT&T Wi-Fi box from an SUV parked outside the Target store, 3849 Vogel Road, in Arnold. The man was arrested after he was located at a Fenton business five days following the theft, Arnold Police reported.
A 51-year-old Barnhart woman called police after the box, which was worth $459, was stolen between about 8:45 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. Oct. 27 from her 2014 Lincoln Navigator. The woman told police she had locked the SUV, but there were no signs of forced entry, the report said.
Surveillance video allegedly showed a man enter the Navigator and then leave in a white pickup that had markings that looked like a business logo, which was traced to a property management business in Fenton. The man was arrested Oct. 31 at the business, Arnold Police reported.
He was taken to the Arnold Police Station, where he was booked and released with a summons to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for alleged misdemeanor stealing from a motor vehicle, according to the report.
The Wi-Fi box was recovered and returned to the victim, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
