The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking two men who early this morning (Feb. 21) allegedly broke into a home in the 700 block of Buckboard Lane in the Fenton area, but left without stealing anything when the victim shot at them.

A husband and wife were asleep at about 2:50 a.m., when the woman heard a noise that sounded like the front door opening, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

She got a handgun and went to the top of her stairway, where she allegedly saw two black men standing just inside the front door, so she fired three shots at them and they left, the report said.

Authorities don't think either of the men was shot, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff's Office.

Both the suspects reportedly were wearing black hoodies. One is about 6-foot-tall with a husky build and probably is in his mid-30s. The other is about 5-foot-7-inches tall with a thin build and appeared to be in his mid-20s.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
