Nine handguns recently were stolen from a home in the 2000 block of Parkton Way in Barnhart, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The theft occurred between 5 p.m. July 7 and 9 p.m. July 13, when someone stole the guns out of a plastic container inside an unlocked tool box, the report said.

The victim told deputies that when he returned home on July 13, he found the tool box open and the guns missing, according to the report.

There were no signs of forced entry at the home, the report said.

Fingerprints and DNA were found at the scene and submitted as evidence, according to the report.

As of July 16, the stolen guns had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, says Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
