The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent report about a burglary and assault at a home in the 9700 block of Raintree Village Drive in the Hillsboro area. The incident reportedly happened just after 9 p.m. Aug. 2.
A woman who lives at the address told deputies that when she returned home that night, she found a strange woman hiding in her bedroom. The intruder allegedly used a steel fireplace stoker to beat the victim, leaving her with broken bones, contusions and cuts to her head and ear that required stitches, according to the report.
As of Friday (Aug. 11), the Sheriff’s Office had not identified a suspect, Cpl. Matthew Moore said. He urges anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
