The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about a recent burglary at a home in the 1600 block of Shadwell Drive in Barnhart while a resident was asleep inside.

At about 10:40 a.m. Jan. 20, the resident was asleep in the basement and woke up when she heard a loud noise and her dogs barking, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The woman said she walked upstairs and saw a man standing on the main floor of the home, but then he ran away, out the front door, while yelling that he “had the wrong house,” the report said.

The woman said a bottle of prescription pain medication was missing from a bathroom, according to the report.

In addition, a door to a bedroom, which had been locked, was forced open, the report said.

As of Jan. 22, the medication had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

He urges anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
