The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a 24-year-old man who allegedly stole a debit card and keys from his ex-girlfriend.
At about 1 p.m. Jan. 31, the man allegedly went to the victim’s home in the 5000 block of Highland Meadows in the De Soto area, took her purse and cell phone and drove away. Later, the suspect allegedly contacted the victim and told her he had dropped her purse near the entrance to her street, the report said.
The victim found her purse along with most of its contents along the road. Her cell phone, though, was destroyed, according to the report.
After the victim returned home, she realized her debit card and work keys were missing, the report said.
The Sheriff’s Office is seeking stealing charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
As of Feb. 14, the suspect had not been located, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
