The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating recent vandalism at the Community Improvement Association Hall in the 13000 block of Hwy. JJ in the De Soto area, Lt. Gary Higginbotham said Monday (Feb. 22).

He said the incident occurred the night of. Feb. 4, but was not reported until Feb. 11.

Surveillance footage from security cameras in the area show that at 9:39 p.m., a red pickup believed to be a Dodge Dakota entered the building’s parking lot, accelerated through gravel and sprayed gravel on the front of the building. The gravel caused damage to a section of white vinyl siding, according to the report.

Higginbotham said the Sheriff’s Office didn’t have an estimate for the damage.

As of Tuesday (Feb. 23), there were no suspects or arrests, he said.
