The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the recent theft of an 18-foot flatbed trailer parked in the 3000 block of Hwy. V in the De Soto area. The theft happened between March 21 and March 23, the report said.
The victim told deputies he had parked the 2013 Heartland trailer along Hwy. V on March 21 and discovered it missing two days later. The victim said he had a lock on the tongue of the trailer and was unsure how it could have been stolen, according to the report.
The trailer was valued at $4,000. As of March 30, the trailer had not been recovered, and there were no arrests, Cpl. Matthew Moore said. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
