The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of $10,000 worth of items from a home in the 8400 block of Alpine Village Drive in Barnhart. The theft occurred between Feb. 10-Feb. 12, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
Deputies found a basement door and an exterior door had been forced open. They also found a padlock had been forced off a door to an out building. A kitchen set, bedroom furniture, a 55-inch, a 4K, flat-screen television, three computers, two Lincoln welding machines and various tools were stolen, the report said.
The victim, a 55-year-old man, told deputies he was informed on Feb. 12 that lights were on inside his home while he was away the previous week. He said he was unable to return home until Feb. 13, the report said.
As of Feb. 24, none of the items had been recovered and a suspect had not been identified, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
