The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rash of thefts from campers at Keeven Brothers Storage, 577 E. Outer 21, in the Arnold area. The thefts occurred between April 1 and April 27, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

A rear door to an Arnold man’s camper was forced open, and the camper’s entry door and exterior storage compartments were damaged. In addition, items were stolen, including an oven, a medicine cabinet, pantry door, dining table, 50-inch flat screen TV, stereo system, fire extinguisher, grab bar, tow hitch, drawers and light fixtures. Altogether, the stolen items and damage to the camper was estimated at $3,500, the report said.

Another Arnold man’s camper was broken into, and about $200 worth of items were stolen, according to the report.

An Imperial woman’s camper was damaged when someone tried to force a door open. However, she said nothing appeared to be missing. The damage to her camper was estimated at $300, the report said.

It looked like three other campers at the facility were damaged, but as of May 5, owners of those campers had not been contacted, and it was not known if those campers were previously damaged or if someone had tried to break into them and damaged them during the same time frame, the Sheriff’s Office said.

As of May 5, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and there were no suspects, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
