The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two burglaries that happened around the same time and in the same Imperial neighborhood – one at a condo on Lakewood Terrace and the other at an apartment on Lakewood Landing. Both burglaries were reported on Jan. 28, the report said.
It looked like someone forced open the front door to the condo in the 5300 block of Lakewood Terrace and stole about $2,000 in cash, a gun and a computer. The stolen gun and laptop computer were valued at about $1,100, according to the report.
Approximately $1,000 in cash; a Samsung, flat-screen TV; and an Xbox console were stolen from the apartment in the 1500 block of Lakewood Landing. The TV and video game console were valued at about $800, the report said.
There were no signs of forced entry at the apartment, but the place had been “ransacked,” according to the report.
The victim from the burglary at the apartment told deputies she suspected a former roommate may have been involved in the burglary, the report said.
As of Tuesday (Jan. 31), none of the stolen items had been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, Capt. Gary Higginbotham said. Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
