Ronald Michael Thomas, 51, of De Soto has been accused of hitting a woman while trapping her in a home. He allegedly threatened the woman with a knife, court documents show.
Thomas has been charged with second-degree kidnapping, a class D felony punishable by up to seven years in prison; and third-degree assault, a class E felony that carries a penalty of up to four years in prison, court records said.
He was arrested Nov. 18, and as of Nov. 19, he was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to court documents.
According to the case’s probable-cause statement, De Soto Police were called on July 6 because the woman was being held against her will. She said Thomas hit her, physically restrained her and threatened her with a knife to keep her from leaving the home.
The woman, who had been in a relationship with Thomas, was transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City for treatment, the report said.
