Francisco A. Rios, 23, of Festus recently was sentenced to eight years in prison on a felony drug charge, according to court records.
On Dec. 12, 2012, Rios was found in Festus with heroin.
He is a prior offender, the report said.
Rios pleaded guilty to the heroin charge and was sentenced July 8 by Jefferson County Div. 2 Circuit Judge Gary P. Kramer.
The term is to be served concurrently, or at the same time, with a seven-year prison sentence he’s already serving connected to an April 2009 incident, when he was found in Festus with a controlled substance with the intent to distribute it, court papers show.
Rios received probation for that offense but violated his probation and on Jan. 29, 2013, was sentenced to seven years, the report said.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Trisha C. Stefanski handled the most recent case.
Rios currently is in the Northeast Correctional Center in Bowling Green.
