A riding lawn mower valued at $1,200 recently was stolen from a storage shed at the Festus Flea Market in the 3400 block of Hwy. 67, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Between 5:30 p.m. May 1 and 8:45 a.m. May 2, someone cut a chain securing a gate to the property and then cut a lock on the shed door to get inside and stole the red and white, 42-inch Troy-Bilt riding lawnmower, the report said.

As of May 7, the mower had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
