A 45-year-old Richwoods woman was arrested for allegedly stealing tools from homes in the 7500 block of Hwy. H and the 12000 block of Calico Drive. The two homes neighbor each other near the intersection west of De Soto, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Deputies were called to the homes on Nov. 28 when a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier was seen parked in the driveway at the home on Calico Drive. The driver-side door of the car was open when deputies arrived, and they found tools in the car, the report said.
The man who owns the two homes was staying with his parents in St. Louis County and was called, and he told the deputies the tools came from his homes, according to the report.
When deputies searched the area, they allegedly found the woman hiding in bushes between the homes and arrested her. She was taken to Jefferson County Jail, where she was booked and released pending application for warrants, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The Sheriff’s Office will seek a charge of second-degree burglary against the woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, spokesman Grant Bissell said.
