Rebecca Marie Clark, 39, of High Ridge allegedly hit her boyfriend with a car after the two fought inside an apartment they shared in the 300 block of Emerson Road in High Ridge, according to court documents.
Clark has been charged with first-degree domestic assault, a class B felony punishable by five to 15 years in prison; armed criminal action, an unclassified felony that carries a penalty of three to 15 years in prison; third-degree domestic assault, a class E felony punishable by up to four years in prison; and third-degree kidnapping, a class A misdemeanor that carries a penalty of up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $2,000, court records said.
Clark was arrested on Oct. 31, and as of Nov. 5, she was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court documents show.
According to the case’s probable-cause statement, Clark on Oct. 30 accused the man who she lives with of cheating on her, and she allegedly hit and scratched his face. The man told investigators he pinned her to a door to stop her from attacking him.
He told police he tried to leave multiple times, but Clark allegedly blocked the door with her body, the report said.
The man was able to leave the apartment, and as he was walking near Emerson Road near Little Brennan Road, Clark drove a 2008 Ford Escape alongside him. She asked him to help her get items out of a storage unit, and when he said no, she drove away, according to the report.
However, she turned around at Little Brennan Road and then drove at the man, allegedly hitting him. He rolled off the car and fell, the report said.
The report said the man had a contusion and swelling to his knee.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies located Clark shortly after she allegedly hit the man. A deputy wrote in a probable-cause statement there there was a handprint on the car’s hood and dirt or dust had been rubbed off the car from the man sliding off the hood.
A witness told investigators Clark was driving between 20 to 25 mph when she hit the man. Clark admitted to hitting the man with the car, the report said.
