A railroad company vehicle hit an electrical line Tuesday night (March 20) in Festus, which led to power outages for about 1,500 customers in the area, AmerenMissouri spokeswoman Brianne Vaught said.
The accident occurred about 8:45 p.m. on North Fifth Street at West Avenue, she said.
“A construction crane vehicle was driving with the crane half up and (the crane) hit the line,” Vaught said.
By 9:38 p.m., “isolated outages were down to 200. Everyone’s power was back by 4 a.m.,” she said.
