A woman reported that more than $1,500 worth of items were stolen from her car while it was parked in the Most Sacred Heart Catholic Church parking lot, 305 East Fourth St., in Eureka. The incident occurred between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Jan. 27, Eureka Police reported.

The woman told police she believed the doors to her Cadillac SRX were locked, but when she returned to her car, she found her purse missing. The purse contained the woman’s wallet, glasses, credit cards, gift cards, a cell phone and $150 in cash. Altogether, the stolen items were valued at $1,579, the report said.

As of Feb. 1, none of the items had been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, Capt. David Wilson said. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
