Arnold Police are seeking felony charges against a 21-year-old Arnold man for allegedly firing a gun at his home in the Crosswinds apartment complex, resulting in a bullet striking a window in a neighboring apartment, says Capt. Robert Ruckman.
No one in that apartment was injured, he said.
The suspect told officers that at about 9:50 a.m. Dec. 23, a man and woman came to his apartment on Crosswinds Drive and asked to use his phone.
Also, the suspect said he handed his cell phone to the woman and then she and the other man tried to force their way into his apartment, so he got a handgun from his coffee table and fired it at the alleged intruders, Ruckman said.
Arnold Police have not been able to find any evidence that people were at the man’s home or locate anyone who was shot during the incident, Ruckman said today (Feb.7).
The suspect was arrested Dec. 30, booked and then released pending the application for warrants, Ruckman said.
Charges will be sought against the man for unlawful use of a weapon and property damage through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Ruckman said.
No charges had been filed as of today, he said.
