Arnold Police are trying to identify a woman who allegedly stole merchandise and attempted to spit on an employee at the On the Run gas station, 3611 West Outer Road. The woman allegedly stole $209.25 worth of lighters and Starburst candy, police reported.
Officers were called at about 12:30 a.m. Jan. 7 after the employee confronted the woman for allegedly putting the items in a purse. The woman allegedly spit at the employee but missed and the spit hit merchandise in the store, the report said.
The woman was seen leaving in a Toyota 4Runner, according to the report.
The woman allegedly stole 50 lighters and 25 sticks of Starburst candy, the report said.
As of Jan. 11, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and the suspect had not been identified, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
