Authorities are seeking three men who allegedly ran away following an accident in St. Louis that involved an SUV stolen in Arnold. The men appeared to be between the ages of 18 and 25, authorities reported.

Arnold Police got a call at about 7:30 a.m. Aug. 9 about an SUV stolen from outside a home in the 1600 block of Twin Oaks Drive. The victim, a 59-year-old Arnold man, told officers his 2015 Dodge Durango, which he had parked in his driveway at about 9:30 p.m. Aug. 8, had been stolen, the report said.

Video surveillance from the neighborhood showed the SUV being driven away at about 2:15 a.m. Aug. 9. The video also showed a white sedan following the SUV after it was stolen, according to the report.

The man told police he didn’t know if the keys had been left in the Durango or possibly in another vehicle parked in his driveway, the report said.

Later on Aug. 9, St. Louis Metropolitan Police informed Arnold Police that the stolen SUV had been involved in an accident in the 3200 block of Cook Avenue. St. Louis Police said three men were seen running from Durango but provided no other details about the accident, Arnold Police said.

The SUV was towed, but it was not known how badly it was damaged, Arnold Police Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.

As of Aug. 19, the three men seen running from the stolen SUV had not been identified, Valentine said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
