Arnold Police are investigating a theft from a car parked along the 1300 block of Windcrest Circle, as well as damage to another car parked nearby, authorities reported.
Police received a report at approximately 9:20 a.m. Dec. 28 that someone had entered a man’s unlocked 2016 Chevrolet Malibu outside his home on Windcrest Circle. The man told police a Nintendo Switch video game system, games and other items, altogether worth about $610, were stolen from the car, the report said.
While talking with the victim, officers saw another 2016 Chevrolet Malibu in a different driveway with its trunk open. An officer contacted the owner of that Malibu, which had been rifled through, according to the report.
That owner said nothing was taken from his Malibu, which also was left unlocked, but the car’s glove compartment was damaged. That damage was estimated at $300, Arnold Police reported.
The theft from the one Malibu occurred between 11:45 p.m. Dec. 27 and 9 a.m. Dec. 28, the report said.
Surveillance video from a neighbor’s camera allegedly showed someone get out a of black SUV and enter and then exit the other Malibu that was damaged, according to the report.
As of Jan. 5, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
