Arnold Police are investigating three recent break-ins and thefts from vehicles parked at either the Drury Inn and Suites or the nearby Pear Tree Inn in the Arnold Crossroads complex off Hwy. 141. Those incidents occurred late on April 26 or early on April 27, Arnold Police report.
Between 3:30 p.m. April 26 and 6:30 a.m. April 27, at the Pear Tree Inn, someone shattered the driver-side rear window in a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado to get inside the pickup and stole a wallet that contained credit cards. The damage to the pickup was estimated at $200, and the stolen items were valued at $16, but stealing credit cards is a felony, Arnold Police Capt. Robert Ruckman said.
Another vehicle break-in was reported just before 8:30 a.m. April 27, after someone stole a backpack containing a laptop computer, thumb drive and glasses from a car parked at the Drury Inn and Suites. The culprit punched a hole in the driver-side door lock to get inside the car, a 2015 Dodge Charger, the report said.
The stolen laptop and other items were valued at $1,100, and the damage to the car was estimated at $150. Those items, Ruckman said, belonged to a business called EAN Holdings LLC, a company that does business as Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
Between 10 p.m. April 26 and 7 a.m. April 27, someone punched a hole in the driver-side door lock to get inside another vehicle parked at the Pear Tree Inn. Nothing was stolen from that vehicle, but the damage to the it was estimated at $300, Ruckman said.
He said none of the stolen items had been recovered as of May 6. There were no suspects or arrests either.
