Arnold Police arrested a 23-year-old St. Louis man for alleged sexual molestation, Capt. Rich Shular said.
An Arnold girl’s mother contacted Arnold Police the evening of July 10 and told them her daughter had sneaked out of their home that morning and met with the St. Louis man. The mother said her daughter, a juvenile, said the man had inappropriate sexual contact with her, the report said.
Arnold Police had been trying to find the man, and in mid-August, St. Charles Police located him. He was transported to the Arnold Police Station, where he denied the incident. However, he was booked and released pending application for warrants, a report said.
Arnold Police will seek a charge against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for second-degree statutory rape, Shular said.
