Eureka Police patch

Eureka Police are searching for a driver who allegedly knocked over a wooden pole that held an irrigation box in the Ashton Woods neighborhood near West Main Street and Ashton Way Circle, Lt. Michael Werges said.

At about 12:15 a.m. Feb. 22, an officer saw tire tracks in the neighborhood’s common ground and after following the tracks, discovered a utility pole had been knocked over. The officer also found numerous broken vehicle parts that appear to have fallen off the front of a vehicle that struck the pole, the report said.

The officer searched the area but did not locate a damaged vehicle. Eureka Police notified the Ashton Woods homeowners’ association, and the damage was estimated at $1,000, according to the report.

As of Feb. 26, no suspects had been identified, Werges said. Anyone with information about the incident should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
