A pickup stolen early New Year’s Day (Jan. 1) in Imperial was recovered three days later in St. Louis. The pickup was stolen from outside a home in the 5000 block of Fischer Way, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The victim told authorities he discovered the 2001 Chevrolet pickup missing about 7 a.m. after last seeing it at 4:30 a.m. parked outside the home. The victim said the pickup was unlocked with the keys in the ignition, a report said.
Several items were inside the pickup when it was stolen, including multiple power tools, an axle shaft, a generator, a backpack, clothes and a wallet containing credit cards. The estimated value of the property was $10,550, according to the report.
