The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a pickup from the maintenance garage at the Country Squire Estates mobile home community, 5041 Gem Drive, in High Ridge. The theft occurred between 5 p.m. May 7 and 4 a.m. May 8, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

It looked like someone forced entry into the building that houses an office and maintenance garage, and then keys to a blue 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche were stolen, the report said.

Two padlocks were pried off the garage door, which damaged the doorjamb, and the door was forced open to allow the Avalanche to be driven away. The pickup was valued at $10,000, and damage to the building was estimated at $1,000, according to the report.

As of May 28, the pickup had not been recovered and no suspects had been identified, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
