Festus Police are investigating the theft of a 1994 Dodge pickup truck with a trailer containing about $20,000 in lawn equipment. The theft occurred outside the Schnucks store, 1181 Gannon West Drive, Chief Tim Lewis said.
“About 6 p.m. (Oct. 6), our officers responded to the Schnucks parking lot for a stolen vehicle,” he said. “The victim is a 68-year-old Festus man. The stolen truck is a 1994 pickup with a trailer containing lawn equipment. He left it with the engine running and unlocked to go into the store. When he returned, it was gone.”
Lewis said the pickup was valued at $3,000 to $4,000, but he had no estimate for the trailer.
As of Oct. 13, the pickup and other items had not been recovered and there were no suspects, he said. Anyone with information is asked to call Festus Police at 636-937-3646.
