A woman who allegedly was washing her clothes in the Pevely Pointe Apartments swimming pool July 27 was arrested for outstanding warrants on drug-related charges, Pevely Police Chief Ron Weeks says.
The woman, 50, resides at the apartments in the 10000 block of Pevely Pointe Drive.
Her live-in boyfriend, 57, was also arrested when he grabbed a sunglasses case near the woman that contained what officers described as a pipe with suspected drug residue and four pills believed to be a controlled substance, Weeks said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending lab test results on the seized materials.
Pevely Police received a call that day at 4:03 p.m. from apartment managers who said the woman was washing clothes in the swimming pool, Weeks said.
“The officers found the female was under the influence of what they believed to be a narcotic. After they discovered she had three outstanding warrants,” Weeks said, “she told them she had been smoking meth.”
The woman had one felony warrant from Jefferson County and two misdemeanors. She was held for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
